Hey, if Judicial Watch can subpoena for the emails why can't we? Aren't there a few lawyers among us?

we can if we wanna die . Just sayin

Because it would be silly. Once they are released, you would be able to get them from the State Department website. https://foia.state.gov/Search/Collections.aspx

Judicial Watch doesn't "subpoena" them. They do a Freedom of Information Act request and yes, anyone can do that. You can also find info on that from foia.state.gov

Judicial Watch and State Department representatives appeared in federal court in Washington, D.C., on Thursday over the group's Freedom of Information Act suit seeking Clinton emails from her tenure at the State Department.

Its a LAWSUIT. FOIA was denied, thus lawsuit with lawyers and subpoenas and court hearings.

You still don't subpoena the emails.

If you want to file a FOIA and then a lawsuit go right ahead, but you don't get to subpoena folks right off the bat. I'm pretty sure in this case, it's the judge who would order the emails turned over. You could supoena documents that would support your argument/lawsuit as for why should get the emails, but you wouldn't get to simply subpoena the thing the lawsuit was about.

Judicial Watch is doing a pretty damn good job so far. Do we get to see them then? Surely they'll release them?

I hope so, I want to see them. I hate redacted documents. they better not be totally redacted.
