THIS is the drug war we need to be fighting... FDA approved heroin lite. Fuck this. Sessions' focus on taking on marijuana is my biggest concern when it comes to his ability to prioritize real problems. That would be like him choosing to focus on people smuggling DVDs from China instead of Pedogate.
I agree with you that WE are smart enough not to think pot is dangerous... but, you've got big pharma, law enforcement, rehab programs, the prison system, alcohol & tobacco, and night clubs/bars all trying desperately to keep it illegal. They all stand to lose money if it is legalized or even decriminalized. Especially pharma/prisons (which have massive lobbyist groups).
They are in full collusion, distorting the science, having medical reports and scientific journals get amended/deleted when there is progress to be reported. I literally read a full journal report of how the active ingredients (cannabinoids [sic]) have been shown to destroy cancerous tumors in certain types of cancer... only to watch it get redacted, and then deleted entirely.
Decentralized economies, legalization of marijuana, limits on contributions and caps on lobbying groups/efforts are some other ways we can dismantle the machine that apparently is fueled by the blood of innocence. They are preying on us. And at least 50% of our country is happy to be at their mercy.
yes, it nuts. the arrests today include doctors prescribing opioids that are bought on medicaid (free to patient) and sold on the street, and people scamming the healthcare system (billing for services that aren't supplied). Keeping the mandatory drug sentencing and applying it to asshats like these doctors and fake patients should (and rightfully) keep the prisons full.
Frankly I think that arrests for pot are so unpopular that these can be stopped with jury nullification (the manner that prohibition was ended). People need to learn and use their rights while we still can.

maybe that was a smokescreen? No body really thinks pot is dangerous.
