The Catholic Church was infiltrated by Gays decades ago as part of a plan to undermine the Church from within. For years they have turned away 'conservative' young men from seminaries in an effort to change the Church. People have not left the Church because of its traditional beliefs, they left it because the new gay liberal priests did not stand for Catholic tenets.
Goodbye! Good Men: How Catholic Seminaries Turned Away Two Generations of Vocations From the Priesthood Paperback

4.3 out of 5 stars
66 customer reviews In this explosive new book, investigative reporter Michael S. Rose reveals how deliberate discrimination against traditional, or "orthodox," men has been effected by well placed ideologues who want to change the Catholic Church in America to suit their personal tastes and politics.
Also find out:
How seminary "gay subculture" and its "heterophobia" drive away healthy heterosexual men
How traditional expressions of the faith and acceptance of the Church's teachings often disqualifies a candidate
How psychological counseling is unethically used to expel healthy men from their seminary
Why "orthodoxy" begets vocations
How to eliminate the "vocations crisis" and put an end to the priest shortage
The MOST important book about the Catholic Church in decades
The Protestants split from the Catholic church over corrupt practices that amounted to selling salvation for gold. The Catholic church has turned their back on almost all of those practices and yet continues the "celibate priest" tradition despite the fact that it has probably the most tenuous basis in either the bible or tradition. None the less, they cling to that tradition even when it is a clear and obvious threat to the very existence of the church. There has got to be a reason for that.
Edit: The Orthodox Church, from which the Catholics split beginning in the 2nd Century does not have nor has it ever had celibate priests. There is no tradition of that in Judaism as well.
Their tradition is not their downfall. Abandoning their tradition has been their downfall. There is no priest shortage either . That was a planned shortage to convince people that priest should marry. If you want a religion where ministers can marry and is non-traditional, there are plenty to pick from. You don't need to "change' Catholicism.
If you're trying to justify the church taking money for salvation, you're wrong. If your point is to justify the celibacy mandate for Catholic priests, then certainly, let's follow tradition. For the first 1,000 years of Christianity celibacy was not required for any Christian religious leaders and the Apostles themselves were often married. In fact, the so called tradition of celibacy stemmed from the gnostic heresy and has no legitimate place in Christian tradition.
Predicted to come about, in the NT, including "Good Friday" where meats are not to be eaten.
"Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth."

Catholicism was changed to stop selling salvation. There is no shame in changing to do what is right.

Never trust a man that isnt interested in fucking women. God favors procreation. Your body is your temple and celibacy is mental illness. Period.
