Even if they did, where does that leave us? So they can't explain the handkerchief thing, or maybe they can ("it was an actual handkerchief that we were talking about, end of story"), now what? This is a wasted opportunity if this is the point we choose out of the bunch to present to people. This handkerchief thing isn't gonna swing anyone and there are much more damning things to go after, imo.

In my experience, it's actually quite effective to simply show those emails to people and asking "What do YOU think it means?"
