This is the latest in a recent series of posts from Neon Nettle. It had 40 up-votes before anyone down-voted it, or noticed that the central claim of the story had NO SOURCE.
The amount of times I've seen people post stories from this ALWAYS UN-SOURCED trash heap of a "news site" has me concerned that many of us might believe everything they've read from it.
I'm making this post as a public announcement, with hopes that next time someone will say something before a Neon Nettle post gets up-voted 40 times. Because this is starting to annoy the shit out of me.
Edit:
Another example:
https://voat.co/v/pizzagate/1967740 (this story cites Neon Nettle, who in turn cites NOTHING. It too was getting up-voted for a while before anyone caught it)

One of the most frustrating things about this forum is that people post shit from sources that are obviously not verifiable or reputable. All that does is discredit the real investigation. I've seen a bunch of posts here and elsewhere from this Neon Nettle place. It's scary how easily people fall for it.

Confirmation bias is rampant. I think there are a lot of young people in this site that just don't know any better yet

The problem seems like it could be a culmination of confirmation bias, as you said, as well as a flaw in the current content aggregation model. Website like this one not only allow users to vote on content based solely on the title or thumbnail alone, but the design essentially encourages it. I'm sure you're right about the naive younger population, but I think it's because some individuals views this similarly to something like Twitter. Voater fraud is also also much more than likely to be a cause of some of the poor content finding itself on the front page.
