Roald Dahl and Ian Flemming were both MI-6 agents in WW2. Roald Dahl wrote the movie "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" based on Ian Flemming's short story of the same name.
In Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory there is a scene (from the book) where Wonka (Wilder) asks the children to smell the wallpaper, it smells just like Snozzleberries. Snozzleberries, from on of Dahl's adult semi-pornogrphic novels, was a guys balls.
So, yes, Roald Dahl was suspect, to say the least.
