Roald Dahl wrote an autobiography for kids called Boy. It focused on some real strange hazing at the English Boarding School he attended. Keeping toilet seats warm for older boys etc. Never had a chance to become human really I guess. A dissociating tonsil removal chapter too that I remember causing multiple classmates to faint or cry when read aloud.

Roald Dahl also hated the movie though, not sure exactly how that fits yet but it's an interesting aspect.
