If you want to understand Podesta, listen to how he describes Trump. Podesta is projecting all his own negative characteristics on to Trump--'no impulse control' 'needs yes-men around him' etc.

Agree, its called Projective Identification and if the recipient takes it onboard and projects the accusations back its called Introjective Identification.
