Yes, the context is disturbing (that the perps are in positions of trust). But that looks like about 60 people in a country of around 70 million, covering a period of 20 years. Also, convictions were successfully achieved, which means that some of the police, at least, are doing their job (even if the process takes way too long).
Just wanted to get in, before the limey-bashers arrive. Other countries don't even bother to prosecute these crimes...They also don't have trial by jury. In the Netherlands, the court system uses appointed judges and it's already legal for an adult to have sex with a 12-year-old there. You don't hear so much about abuse in the Netherlands, but that's only because it's effectively been legalised.
Like I say, it's obviously disturbing stuff. But just wanted to make a few important points before idiot posters start trying to dehumanise English people again.
