“We had been open for a few weeks when we got a break – we received some free advertising on the radio when one of the morning radio personalities said we were by far the best pizza in Portland. The next day we had a line out the door. We never looked back and have been rockin' and rollin' ever since. To entertain families waiting in line for pizzas, we started having kids draw on our boxes, and parents wanted in on the action – so the Box Contest started in the early years. Since then we have had incredible artwork provided by our customers. Also, local artist Wendy Wallin Malinow has had a guiding hand in making the visuals all come together.”

I've eaten here before, its just off of the campus of Oregon State University. Aside from the huge population of undergrads and faculty there is a large conservative quiet old-er population of Corvallis. I've looked at the artwork on the walls when I've been there and it largely seems like college kids fucking around with crayons on paper plates. Surely some could be done by kids, but the vibe and the location of American Dream in Corvallis is definitely not one of a kid friendly vibe. American Dream is literally 1 block from Greek Row, when I head back to Corvallis here in the next couple weeks or so I'll check it out again and look around. Will keep you posted OP
