I concur, there is no way to reach the lofty heights that Kubrick did unless he signed 'the contract'. Operation Mockingbird installed (((their))) HR dept in Hollywood and he will have been assisted through these channels. My hunch is that he grew disdainful of his masters, his conscience returned and thought he may be able to get something out to reach the masses. Either way his legacy has made an enormous impact on those trying to expose the hidden tyranny.
