I think a big problem is that they call it "porn," rather than abuse. It is language purposely meant to deflect from what's really happening. The word "porn" activates a different part of the brain. We hear it with the word child, and normal people think, "oh, gross!" and tune it out. You don't even have time to register that a child was raped, you don't know that it usually involves other physical abuse. Let alone where that kid came from, born into it? Kidnapped?
They've even gone as far as saying the abused children were "performing sexual acts," as in the recent Jacob Schwartz case.
They want us to tune it out so we won't get outraged.
