Yes, I am familiar with the Epstein case. The "Lolita Express" and "Pedo Island" are made up terms, it's not like Epstein called them by these names.
There is nothing wrong with having a sex party on your own private island. We have to be careful about guilt by association here. Just because you spend time with someone that has done something illegal, does not mean you have done anything wrong yourself.
I have a personal example here. I am a photographer, and there is a local band that I have photographed many times. Over the years, I became acquaintances with the lead guitarist and his wife. When I opened my studio downtown, they often stopped in to say hi and we even did some great pinup photos of his wife. Then, out of the blue, suddenly he gets arrested for having sex with a minor. Turns out, that when he used to work at the music store down the street, he became involved with an underage girl (16) he was giving guitar lessons to. We had no idea, the band had no idea, even his wife had no idea that this had been going on. We didn't do anything wrong, which is why he is the one in jail and not everyone he knows as well.
Since I'm on a tangent... I think it's important we clarify that being a pedophile and having sex with someone who is underage are two entirely different things. I know you are going to attack me and disagree with me, but hear me out.
I, and every adult I know, lost their virginity before they were 18. Most of us were sexually active at 15 and 16. So, I think there is a fair argument to be made that the age of consent in the US could be 16 rather than 18. We let 16 year olds have a drivers license and a car is a far more deadly weapon than our genitals. Just to be crystal clear, I am NOT saying there is problem with the current laws or even that they should be changed. I am simply saying there is a decent argument to made that they COULD be changed.
Now pedophilia on the other hand, is generally referring to molesting, being attracted to, aroused by, or raping a pre-pubescent child. Clearly, a child of this age and development cannot give informed enthusiastic consent. That, I believe, is where the line needs to be drawn here.
Like I said, I know you are going disagree with me but I have very liberal views about sex and the freedom of consenting adults to do whatever they please.
So, back to the Epstein case. Obviously, he broke the law and he served his time (too short if you ask me). However, when reviewing the facts of the case I think it is difficult to call Epstein a pedophile. Don't get me wrong he pushes the bounds for sure, but it seems everyone he was involved was at least sexually mature. Regarding his sex parties, again, consenting adults can do whatever they like in that regard. If underage girls were being raped by people other than Epstein on his plane or island, that's a problem, however to date, there is no evidence of that. The accusations that Trump, Prince Harry, Clinton, etc are pedophiles simply because they partied with Epstein are, in my view, unsupported at this time.
