this looks fake and i will tell you why i think it is... The fonts are too perfect and too modern for the 1930's. It looks computer generated to me. Not Typeset as it would have been in the 1930's

Nice catch

I checked it out, I used to use ProType here in Houston for phototype typesetting, we cut and paste it by hand. I'm not sure I can agree with you on that, however w/ tech tools nowadays anything is possible. If it is legit it would have been literally lead fonts as they used in old newspapers.

You may recall this is what screwed Dan Rather when he produced documents on Bush getting a pass in National Guard. Fonts were too new. Edit: Or I should say, the way they were produced. They would have been "photo-typeset" and cut and pasted by hand (Bush's documents). And at that time "photo-type" was in its infancy, and lived a relatively short life as "desktop publishing" soon wiped it out after Windows 95.

Gomorrah is spelled wrong, but that could be proof for either or.

It's certainly ugly enough (design-wise) to be from back then, that's the way they did things, but again, that could be replicated too.

Its the slab font that's all wrong. If you go and look st 1930's ads and the fonts they used back then, you can just tell from the typeset alone.

It looks exactly like the fonts that were used then. To me. But I appreciate the comment, you might be right. If this is not authentic, where did these fonts come from? It would have been a lot of work. They aren't from MSoft nor Adobe InDesign that I'm aware of. Need a really experienced ad guy to have a look. I've only been partially active for the last ten years.

I didn't even think about this. You may be right.
