New petition directed at Florida lawmakers:
Joe Negron, State Senator
Richard Corcoran, State Representative
Rick Scott, Governor

Excerpt from the petition:
Florida lags only behind California and Texas as a haven for human traffickers and their victims. Florida’s tourist economy makes it an ideal destination for sex traffickers. Also, the state’s large immigrant population makes it an attractive destination for labor exploitation. By some estimates, approximately 25% of the victims of human trafficking are children. Florida does not have to occupy the “bottom of the barrel” when it comes to fighting this scourge. Legislation (SB 972) has been introduced that could make Florida a leader – a champion – in the fight against this epidemic, instead of just one more big state that is part of The Problem, not its solution.

I would read the fine print in anything Rick Scott is involved in. Good on you for posting a petition on the Trafficking Bill. I guess I am getting really skeptical. Thanks for bringing it to our attention. Possibly could it make it easier for children to be placed into foster homes when they are identified after arrest? IDK. I just don't trust Rick Scott. He got his start from Jeb Bush after Scott had to flee Texas after having to shell out Millions for Medicare Fraud. What do others think?

This would be good to look into more. Do you have any links to share?
