I think it some way it is all connected. Kathy Griffin is not that smart. And she is definitely not that funny. She most likely was "allowed" to become a "star" because she did what she was told. She is being used, whether they are pushing a theme or using her as a distraction.
Same with Debbie Wasserman Schultz. She is not too smart . She is just a pawn, allowed to have a little power and prestige, until she isn't.
The problem for them is, that neither knows how stupid and small they are.
