They (GLAAD) are an activist group, https://www.glaad.org/together. This isn't about the Firefighter Lana Moore, back then. This is about Lana Moore now, I'm thinking. She is a Board Member of GLAAD.
Past participants list has some familiar names.

Rich Ferraro - their cjief communications officer spoke in an article about how great it was they (GLAAD) got gays mixed into the boyscouts. I found Articles showing that GLAAD has been working with Change.Org. "GLAAD, in association with Change.org, Scouts for Equality (SFE), and the Inclusive Scouting Network (ISN), delivered over 1.8 million signatures to the BSA urging them to drop their discriminatory ban on gay members."
They went to the Whitehouse, too.

Currently, Ms. Moore is a member of Columbus’ Roundtable of Local LGBT Leaders. She is a Vice Chair on the Executive Board of Directors for GLAAD (An international media advocacy organization) and she volunteers locally for Franklin County’s “CATCH Court” as a mentor for women who are survivors of human trafficking. Lana is the parent of two grown children, ages 21 and 24, and resides in Westerville, OH. We are honored to celebrate Captain Lana Moore as the 2016 Columbus Pride Grand Marshal.
