Yeah, this is most definitely a fully scripted video. We got dad mouthing what mom is about to say at 0:40. Also, starting at 1:30, Dad is trying to talk about what his son was working on, and he actually has no clue and sticks to platitudes. Then at 1:45, desperate for words, he glances sideways in a very focused manner; its not that his gaze is accidentally shifting, no, he very decidedly looks at something that he knows is there, at the distance he expects it to be at. And then, all of a sudden, he is able to tell in much greater detail what his son was actually working on.
So, off-camera there are some big sheets with keywords, phrases ("bullets and people don't match"), talking points etc. that they need to stick to. It's almost too obvious. Maybe that's why brother is smirking so hard; imagine what he is looking at.
