If McMaster really leaks, and the president gets to know that (reliably, not via AJ), it's a reason to fire - not to keep. No matter what the leaked topic is.
Only another option would be to use the leaker (keep him and feed false/wanted info to leak).
In either case, any future leaks by him are questionable (IMO, as are those already leaked)
