Trump's been recording people in his office for 30 years I am just now hearing. Doesn't sound like too dumb a guy to me. He always had an eye to the oval office, maybe he took a cue from Nixon (and all the rest that have been secretly recording since Kennedy).
He didn't want to run for president. He wanted someone else to lead. It's not a fun job, he doesn't need the money or the recognition, and it literally puts everything he has worked for at risk. Not to mention the personal abuse his family has taken, including his 10yr old son. There is no way a truly independent person (non-political) could run against the establishment sadly. The only reason Trump was able to do it is bc he already possessed the two most important things in politics, money and name recognition.
Working in a city of criminals tends to make you record things for posterity. It is a different world doing business in NY.
You're exactly right, I should have said "had his eye on the presidency RELUCTANTLY," always hoping that things would get better, saying he'd only run if he had to ... that's actually what I meant, I should have pointed that out. Thanks.
