I don't think Podesta is living near an elementary school because his property is a vacant lot as far as I can tell. If you were to see a Google map, this community looks highly developed and densely populated. But that is not the case in all sections. Lehigh Acres was one of those cheap 1950s and 1960s Florida land grabs for future retirees, $25 down, $25/month sort of thing for a building lot. Major cash flow problems on the part of the developer, Lee Ratner, a Chicago businessman who got wealthy off a rat poison product D-Con. Population growth ultimately caught up with the developer after several decades and parts of Lehigh Area consists of lovely homes in a gated setting for well off retirees and other parts are forlorn and underdeveloped. Perhaps Podesta had envisioned a retirement home for his mother. Who knows? Interesting post.
