I heard him say before that the people in power are more likely to negotiate and come clean if there is a "truth and reconciliation" trial. It makes sense since we are dealing with people who own over half the world's wealth.
The alternative is a full on Revolution, which could get messy very fast.
My personal feeling is that we are dealing with people who will not do the right thing unless a blade is against their neck.
Which option do you prefer? Maybe you see another option I did not mention here.

They are in control, so why the hell would they come clean?
"My personal feeling is that we are dealing with people who will not do the right thing unless a blade is against their neck."
Why would they come clean? Because, if they do not, then they run the risk of facing the guillotine. The weakness of the people in power is that they pay others to do work for them. They cannot and will not do work themselves. If there is nobody willing to accept their pay, then they are completely fucked. We would just need to take away their support structure and isolate them. Of course, I have heard that they have nukes planted all over the place, so it could get very ugly.
I am not saying you are wrong. I am just pointing out another way of dealing with this.
Of course, I believe that the type of people we are dealing with only respond to force, so...
My worry is that we will make the same mistake as Hitler-we will not get the people at the very, very top. This must be done or the problem will only go away temporarily until people forget again after a few generations.
It sounds like you want to forget negotiating and just go for it. Count me in. I have a lot to lose, and so does everyone else, but we cannot condemn future generations by not dealing with this now.
