It's much worse than early metal or gangster rap which focused on various aspects of the darkness of humanity.

This kind of thing is attempting to play off darkness as something else entirely.... Its glib attitude and cute face on top of the topic treats humanities darkness as something good or fun to fuck around with.

I'm not saying bands like Black Sabbath and Judas Priest or whatever else are "good"... I'm pretty sure that they aren't good.... But at least the music and style of the people involved screamed "darkness" and made you acknowledge the darkness as such.... slapping a pleasant face and cavalier attitude on all of this material really disturbs me.
