Pizzagate is a good name because it is euphemistic and has a meme-esq quality. Actual pedophiles can talk openly about pedophilia in code and not be judged but anyone. People who speaks openly about pedophilia to prevent it are looked at as potentially creepy or unhinged because the topic is so far out of normal conversation. Using the euphemism "pizza" is useful in that sense. Otherwise the taboo nature of the topic gets used against people who just want to help children. Also the name Pizzagate is so weird it caught on and has staying power. Overall, I think it is the better name.

Pedogate is the more accurate name. Its main use is just to try to correct the people who think the movement is just about Alefantis and Comet Pizza. By emphasizing that it is about the global pedophilia problem that straw man gets threatened.

I agree with you. If they can "normalize" pedophilia as they are trying to do, then they could, with time, dismiss "pedogate". They would have a much harder time "normalizing" calling kids pizza and pasta, because it denotes more of an, intertwined, underground network, that has nothing to do with a "mutual", "love-based" sexual preference.

You have a point. Even if, hypothetically speaking, pedophilia were made legal the behavior would still be illegal because of laws against human trafficking. Calling kids by the name of purchasable goods illustrates this.
