Apparently he then proceeded to delete many of the tweets, but people got screenshots of the most damning ones.

If he can't handle legitimate and justified questions by people wanting some reassurance that he is for real given that he is asking for a lot of money, then that is a bit of a red flag for me.

Exactly. Anyone who's been looking at this for more than a few days would know that asking for money is the easiest way to draw skepticism, even if it's for a legitimate reason. He should, at the very minimum, be willing to answer questions.
