I don't know any other way. At this point it seems mostly our fortunes, such as they are. Walk away from all of it, and declare our government illegitimate. I believe that, and we're I single I would do it. But it would mean leaving my husband behind.... and I just can't. So, I don't know the answer, either. Maybe we just need to keep waking people up.
At this stage, this is basically all we can do. It just gets extremely frustrating when all you seem to hear is "where's the hard evidence?"
I wish I had some.
It's difficult indeed! I'm old enough to have gone to school when they were still teaching that America is a great and generous nation, set apart from all others by our constitution and bill of rights. As a child it was NORMAL to hear discussion about things being "constitutional" or not. I remember when the 4th of July was Independence Day and every year was an opportunity to celebrate our country, and our own good fortune at having been born here. People who came here from other countries came to BECOME American and all that represented and shed tears upon being awarded citizenship.
Today there's too many who have been taught otherwise and don't see the value that is here, or the need to protect it.
I live in California (again, the husband) and many so called educated people believe they are fighting the good fight, and don't even realize they are working against themselves, their communities and their country. Their indoctrination is so complete that any attempt to show them another way of seeing things is met with disbelief at best, and the being cut off as a friend at worst. So, I just move on. It doesn't yet take all my fingers and toes to count the ones I've woke, but then again, it's a tough crowd.
