This reminds me of our Capitol and all the symbols that are prominently displayed. The other point to bear in mind nothing on a nationally syndicated show happens randomly. Everything is planned and coordinated literally down to the colors the actors wear. Logos are researched for legal purposes and advertising purposes. Everything is curated very carefully for effect. sets are designed, lighting is planned, props and wardrobes are preplanned all with the idea of shooting the show from the best camera angles. The show employs staff specifically for this purpose. It might have been an inside joke of some sort or a symbolic gesture to their secret society. I am reminded though of how Washington DC displays symbols out in the open maybe to display allegiance to the secret network? That's what I lean towards.
