The hacker, and subsequent communication with Washington DC police, stated that the encrypted files were indeed files containing child pornography (reference to comet ping pong website)
I didn't watch any of it and won't download anything (just the knowledge that this sick shit goes on is bad enough) but the people who saw what was on it said it was the stuff of nightmares. Think Hostel but with a little boy. I hated the world and everything in it after reading the descriptions of what was on it, no wonder the Comet shooter just 'happened' to shoot through Comets computer server.
Since the "shooting" was a false flag, and reports of how many shots were fired varied (some witnesses said they heard NO shots), who even knows if that part is true? It could be bullshit, just like the rest of the story.
Besides, JA's ass is covered. He didn't need Welch to come in and "destroy evidence."

Shooting through a computer server makes no different to the files hosted, which are archived in perpetuity .
