From the EFF: "Even when parents object, they cannot opt out. The data is supposedly being collected to give students a personalized education experience. That data includes browsing history, location, contact lists, and behavioral information. It’s also being uploaded to cloud services without the knowledge of parents."
We also recall MIT pedo Negroponte's One Laptop Per Child" for third world children.

I really think it's detrimental to have children do their schooling on computer screens anyway. I talked so much shit to my administration about this when they implemented it in my school system. It seemed, to me, that they didn't even have a say in it. Who forced these grants?

I know that I have a really hard time paying attention to what I'm doing if I'm not totally interested in it. When I'm on the computer. I know that I have a bit of a brain disorder when it comes to attentiveness, it's whatever. I'm 25 by now and am where I want to be for the moment.
On the other hand, these kids that are getting iPads in 2nd grade til they get to 5th and get a laptop. Then in 9th they get a newer, nicer laptop for the 4 years of high school. What about all of those kids that should be learning but instead become distracted easily while doing their work. Pen to paper worked for centuries when it came to learning. Why the fuck isn't it good enough anymore?
The excuse was that they were trying to curb the use of paper. Legalize the use of cannabis, at least as a resource for textiles, and we can solve the "cutting down all the trees in the world" problem (which, by the way, nobody seems scared of that anymore. It was like mass hysteria in the 90's).
Then I heard "well, we are trying a new learning model that is apart from the model we have been using. we want the kids to learn the material at home, and then come to school and we do group projects and shit on what they learned last night." Again..........people have been doing that with books for a long time. I used to do that shit all the time in school.
Fuck modern education. I've had a case of the ass with it for a decade.
