From a human psychology point of view which i have educational background in (10 years)i will say pedophilia is like any other predaliction . our judeo christian society shuns its practice because we view children as the pinnacle of vulnerable innocence in our western society whom should be protected by sexual predators. So in a sense we have come a long way in becoming a more civilized society than say ancient Rome or even a draconian muslim empire that encourages pedophilia from its muslim teachings.
