I can't think of any legendary British "pop" stars from the 1970s apart from Elton John or Cliff Richard - and I don't think they like 'girls.' Its also worth noting that The Sun are notorious for planting subtle clues - perhaps a pun on a well known song, for example - in articles where they can't name names.

actually I should have just googled it and watched a live performance with John Paul Jones doing the female part. I've seen a thousand Led Zeppelin videos and not one female on stage.
