Its not just the clergy involved in child rape within churches. Youth group leaders, church elders, christian school teachers etc have been involved. Perhaps more importantly, the congregations often facilitate the activities of clergy and other church leaders by disbelieving children and refusing to believe anything bad about the leaders. Parents admonish their kids to not say bad things about the priest etc. These "upright" church leaders often get away with things much longer because of their status and they get more free access to the kids because they are deemed beyond reproach.
The Bible strictly forbids sexual immorality, fornication, and adultery. So any person who commits these acts are not following Jesus Christ and therefore not a Christian.
