There are perhaps a hundred million people making this exact symbol at this very minute. Many of them are children holding sewing needles while working in sweat shops in Bangledesh and India. Kids are so rarely given instructions as to what meaning all possible hand gestures might have and to whom. My guess is this kid knows it as the AOK symbol like most people would.
