because you wouldn't have to halt anything. without knowing exactly what was said on infowars about JA, it is very unlikely that he could've been successfully sued or that JA really wants to go to court (where all the troubling info and more would need to be shared). assuming for a moment that Jones is actually legit, if his life was threatened than that makes more sense. also it seems that JA is more than "one shithead" and is actually a big fish that could blow things wide open
I'm too tired to debate why beating a lawsuit is less desirable. I see why you would think going to court is better, but it's a major gamble. The burden of proof would be on Jones. Because there's no definitive proof, the judge would have to allow discovery, which might not be granted, and then Jones is straight up shit creek. It would be a colossal amount of money and time. Jones would have to keep flying back and forth to DC viper's nest. Alefantis could spend him into the ground. And even if Jones found video of trafficking and sacrifices happening at Comet, the Judge would most likely be compromised and side with Alefantis. And if the judge did rule in favor of Jones, so what, Alefantis is one dude, no one is going to take on a rico case to get the others. This way, Jones can keep his business, be with his family, broadcast his message, and spend the money on an investigation with a wider net if he wants.
i know a thing about lawsuits. You saying that a judge might not "allow discovery" compels me to believe you don't know that much. a judge might limit what type of info might be sought, but discovery would occur. Also, JA has the burden to show what was said was defamatory, then Jones has the burden to show truth but because JA is a public figure it would have to be shown that Jones actually knew what he said was false or recklessly disregarded info suggesting it was false. Jones would be the favorite to win such a suit (again unless he was stupid enough to say something definitive that was clearly false). As for the costs of holding his ground, again assuming for a second that Jones is not a shill, if it was made known to him that JA was definitely "deep state" and extreme financial losses or even death was imminent, then yes that would be a good reason to back down. other than that a) JA doesn't want this in court as there is much info that will make him look horrible to the public (even if it's just what we've already seen that may find a public platform with a full blown suit); b) Jones is wealthy; c) jones would mint himself as the hero of the truthers and would likely get $ donations to help with costs;

Why halt his whole operation over one shithead. Eat the crow and come at them at a different angle
