How the fuck is this art? These people are beyond idiotic. If someone takes a shit in a toilet bowl it's considered art now. It's beyond pathetic. So if Marina and her big nose decided to do this in my city with the no holds barred restrictions etc and I walked up to her and confronted her about child trafficking in her circle and everything she knew about what was going on and everything she did to children and then proceeded to beat the living shit out of her, would she consider THAT art? There is only a supposed curse if you really believe it. She loves to think she's so spiritual but instead she's just plain evil and naive.

How the fuck is this art? I like this thread because it gets closer to the actual Marina Abramovic rather than the fantasy you made in your heads. Maybe it's not art. I hope you realize though, yours is not an original question. It's been asked about her work for 40 years.

Her stuff like this is like a lttle bit of theater and a big bit of a pyschological experiment. This piece in particular certainly revealed something about the human character. You just revealed that you think about beating the living shit out of her.

If you want to get a more accurate sense of who this woman is and not the distorted picture of people who only learned about her about her last, year, you should watch the documentary about her. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qlbrsh0jKLY

I don't have violent urges towards people in general so don't say it's a human psych experiment and that I revealed thinking of beating her. I know where your going with this. Knowing the facts about this piece of human waste and her followers would change most rational people. Thanks for your insightful comment though.

exactly, we only think of beating her because she is involved in human trafficking and ritual abuse. No one wants to hurt normal people so, this argument is invalid.

I had written this but then read an astute observation above, I will post anyway.

I think she is trying to show the monster within each man and woman. I actually can appreciate this performance, it reminds me very much of The Stanford Prison Experiments, or "The Lucifer Effect".

If I didn't know what I do now, regarding activities they engage in, I might of attended a performance myself.

if she were just any artist that is hated on for no reason maybe but, she isn't just any artist. The things that I have heard this woman involved in behind closed doors is sickening. The average 'center-of-everyones jealousy' artist doesn't usually take the self-victimization this far either so, Im gonna assume that is because she is overcompensating and projecting her own misdeeds.

Another astute observation regarding self-victimization, I had not considered the overall significance... Currently watching this:

McEvilley about Marina, Ulay, and Yves https://vimeo.com/39906005

Thanks.... i believe i watched that one as well, her mental illness really started to show during her relationship with Ulay. I spent quite a while learning everything I could about her to discern as to if it is all an act she puts on. I think it was an act in the beginning but, she eventually became the character she wanted to portray.

Somewhere, there is Mongolian shaman plotting for a past life. Of this, we can be certain.
