I always check users' voting habits before responding, and see how long they have been here, and then check their comments and submissions as a next step if needed. I use my downvotes strategically. Trust your gut - if it is not acting human, it is not worth interacting with. Practically speaking, knowing how the rules for how this sub operate helps us navigate within our agreed upon boundaries. Then we don't have to rely on the MODS so much.
