I know, if more Americans traveled they'd realize that things are a bit shitty here. I ate some fruits, yougurt, milk bread etc in Europe last year. I was shocked, ive never had food with so much natural flavor. Food in America taste like plastic compared to other parts of the world.

Hi, I am German and used to the fruits and stuff you call like kind of originally … I started growing my own vegetables from organic seeds … AND it's even better than what we are used to buy in Europe. We're all screwed! But yes, in europe we try EVERYTHING to avoid US standarts for our food. For example TTIP, the trade agreement between the states and Germany, we protested this shit as hell! Noone wants to be in your shoes.
To be honest: The rest of the world thinks about the US as a real aritificial and unhealthy place in terms of grocery and has much more laws and regulations for this industry.

I believe the foods that are "American" like burgers, hot dogs, processed cheese, meat loaf, all this shit is horrible and adulterated. I think it can be made well, but the "Big Food" industry, Kraft and all that... they're basically poisoning people.
2nd edit: I'd also like to add that the night life in a lot of other countries is far more robust, you can go out at night and have a really great market experience, food, shopping, clubs, drinks till 4 AM, other businesses... in the US it's like everything shuts down super early... so these fucking human traffickers can go around without anyone to see them.
Outside of NY yes many places close early. But. It many open air places to hang anymore and stuff is super expensive. Even that ass Bloomberg tried to shut down a farmers market near NYU and people who sell stones and hand made jewelry.
Overseas has many more places artists and people of normal means can hang and cut loose without paying to get into a club or bar. cbgb closed also, lots of small venues for musicians to gig have been closed to be tuned into luxury high rises
