Lol. Oh you... Get out of here with that rational. This is Voat... Not the Voat from 1.4 years ago when you joined. The Voat from 2017. The Voat that thought allotting the amount of up votes and down votes was the answer to free and open debate.
(Admittedly, This was probably the case 1.4 years ago as well...and it's a good idea in theory. Unfortunately Not when there's a driving force backed by countless elite with an unlimited budget working to disrupt that "good Idea in theory")
Unfortunately, Free and open debate is not what's needed for the pizza-gate theory to thrive and expand. That's obviously essential for raising awareness, but not for going about this research in a practical manner. I understand that it has it's "pros" but the "cons" quickly cancel them out, and then surpass them.
It should have been private from the start... Or I guess I should say, "Restricted". But who knows, maybe it's better this way but I'm unable to comprehend how.. I'd be interested to know the amount people who've contributed a single piece of information, versus those that simply read the posts and comments.
Actually... I'd be interested to know how many shills there are to Actual researchers. Based on nothing other than my inability to accurately gauge proportions, and my ability to always assume it's worse than I assume.Which it usually is. I'm gonna say 7:1 shills versus researchers. Key word there, "Researchers" obviously the majority of the people reading the posts, are not shills. But they are doing nothing beneficial by staying quiet.
Perhaps the shills are fewer than I expect, but they are extremely efficient at their job. I've called people shills only to realize down the road, they probably aren't actually shills... then there are people I assume are genuine only to find out they're shills.
Fucking A. Is it over yet?
Edit: And as much as it sounds like I'm criticizing the mods, I'm actually criticizing the research as a whole. Myself included. By no means have been perfect in my handling of the situation. Often times I've been just as counterproductive, as the people who are the major contributors to my frustration in the first place.
My estimate based on what I view regularly is that shills are 5 to 1 over sincere posters. As far as researchers, yes the number would be more along what you are saying.
I think they mostly mean well but for sure certain users are here to harm. Regardless, I find this statement of your to be very astute:

Yeah, like some rando host on the net is less likely to honey-pot than google drives. Mods should sidebar a list of acceptable document hosts.

You are not overestimating.
