To the NYT; Fact Check - if there's a lot of smoke, there's generally a fire to accompany it. WaPo and NYT are massive smoke generators when it comes to James Alefantis.

There was a politician that used the phrase 'Overly denying' at some time - that phrase definitely applies here.

It is a bad move on their part. He can not sue for defamation now.

When you are a private person, the burden of proof is on the person making the accusations in court.

When you become a public person, the burden of proof is now on you to disprove what has been said. This goes back to Thomas Jefferson's legal practice back when we where a colony.

This means that if alefantis or podesta where to sue someone, like infowars, they would have to prove they are not pedos. They would probably lose the moment podesta's art collection was submitted as evidence. they won't sue however, because they fear the discovery phase, and everything that would come out.
