A young woman presented in the ER asking to have a chip removed from her side. She said it was put in so that she would not be able to escape. At first they didn't believe her, but after it showed up on x-ray it was surgically removed. It is the type of RFID tracker chip that is put in animals.
It has also been revealed that over 87% of trafficked victims end up in the ER at some point. Where's the outcry?

This is a very relevant recent TEDMED Talk about human trafficking, where it's also mentioned that most people actively being trafficked do show up in hospitals at some point, it's just that medical professionals are not trained to spot signs of abuse and victimhood, and help.
