Hi Honeybee. Were your questions sufficiently answered? I just saw your ping to this thread. We try to have users post threads related to the modding of the subverse in v/pizzagatemods, hence the Rule 4 citation. Do repost there...there has been much discussion about how shitty we mods are there lately, so you should get an audience.
Regarding the main question about the ad referencing HenryCorps...there have been numerous posts lately using a similar tactic -- i.e. by users posing as mods, by users posing as other users, by people claiming mods are trying to suppress information, and by people claiming mods are responsible for such subversive activities as
Preventing downvoats
Getting rid of CPP requirements for voating
Taking away the search function
We aren't sure whether this pattern represents the tactics of shills trying to disrupt the forum, or just a bunch of stressed, frustrated users too lazy to inform themselves about how little power moderators on Voat actually have over how the software works and what appears in ads. Essentially, we can sticky a single post, we can flair posts -- but we can only have 10 flairs, we can remove posts, we can remove illegal comments, and we can ban users from the sub. That's it.
Hey V, not looking for an audience to trash mods, my concern is if the ads are just whatev, "as long as someone pays", calling people interested in pizzagate fucking retards "fucktards", I just think it's ridiculous to withdraw a bulliten for a voat relevant event. Take care.
I hear you, Honeybee_. The two things were randomly and unfortunately coincident. We have left the sticky up because it has been far more effective in creating buzz for the March 25 protest than the sidebar graphic was (since most users are on mobile). It also allows us to draw attention to it while maintaining plausible deniability in case we have any incidents that might enable Podesta's legal goons to commence legal action to shut us down, as they have with the Google indexing of v/pizzagate, and many of the archive.is and slim.g links we used to document things.
