I associated the pressholes' fake news meme with pizzagate which, of course, was created after Wikileaks' disclosure of Podesta's e-mails. Indeed, right when I first learned of pizzagate and chatter was starting did the fake news script came out. The media tried to ignore it but it grew. That was when fake news was born. There is nothing else in the Podesta e-mails--subject wise--that has been labeled "fake news". Just the pizzagate thingy. Later, in attacking Trump's election, the pressholes started using "fake news" to play up the Russian bullshit and, later, to attack blogs/websites on the right. Trump did us a favor turning it around on them as it is now shoved down their throats daily.
