Most if not all of the comments here are probably from people only born in the 90's and 2000. This show was called "Just like Mom" and aired in the 80's. It was a harmless period when people didn't jump the gun over every single thing people did. The host kissed the girls because it was a time when showing affection for kids didn't cause mass hysteria, like now.... Because most of you are too young to know about this show, you don't know about the original Family Feud's host Richard Dawson either. He kissed ALL the women. wives, mothers, grandmothers, etc. By today's standards you would call him a sexual predator but back then people didn't have as much anxiety about subjectivity. Like now...
As for this clip. Total bunk. How easy it is for the non-critical thinking millennials here to not recognize that there's funky porn music added to slow motion to exaggerate the context of an innocent day time tv show. A true objective experience of the events of that time period wouldn't rely on editing to induce "creepiness". Innocent displays of affection with kids was standard for the 70's 80's. In 1976 my grade 1 teacher would repeatedly ask me to approach her desk for hugs, among others. Now days, everyone gets into a big snit and adults are afraid of kids. Can't even talk to one without worry of being labeled a pedo.
Sorry, I just don't agree and everyone is NOT a non-critical thinking millennial. This was downright creepy and not even the kids wanted to partake in his nonsense. Look at the body language of the girls. But you know, everyone seems to be swayed to do anything when they are on tv, in movies, if there is an inkling of a chance that they will be famous for a minute. Look at hollywood and the pure garbage on tv.
Whatever. How many screaming kids have you seen placed on Santa's lap? in 40 years people will say that was child abuse. It's only creepy when someone edits the original with slow motion and funky porn music. C'mon really? That should have been your first clue. I could edit anything to look like something it's not. Even a screaming kid on Santa's knee has he bellows ho-ho-ho. The fact is, I watched this show as a kid and NEVER once did i think it was creepy. It was just the time period that it was. Culturally different. And my other point still stands... All the producers, audience, mothers, 100's if not a thousand staffers involved to make a production, tv audience and co-host. None of them told the host to knock it off. Why? Do you think the mothers who brought their kids to the show have never watched it before? See, these are critical thinking questions you should have asked yourself before jumping the bandwagon Richard Dawson kissed all the women on his show too. No one cared. Why? Because it was harmless. Today everyone's got their panties in a bunch over nothing..
Whateverrrrr.
I'm sorry that you had to watch this crap as a kid and were brought up watching nonsense like this. Never heard of the show. And of course, you would not think it was creepy because you just didn't have the sense to ask critical thinking questions about it back then because there was no reason to. Mother's who brought their children to the show were like the rest of the mindless people of that time. They were swayed by being on tv and famous for a minute.
In 2017, March 18....that show is creepy and today it is no longer harmless.
Did I call you a creep.....NOT. I called the show creepy. Sounds like you need to take a break.
My bad, i assumed you were the other poster who called me a creep. I noticed my mistake and edited it out. But i will tell you what is mindless. This generation. So, according to you, everyone else was mindless during that time. And to justify your fallacy, you think the mothers were just there for the fame and already inherently knew the host was a perv but overlooked that just so they could get on a show. You should take a break. Period.
