I'd tell her you're not really hungry that night and just have a salad sans any meat and a beer.

I will be watching the bartender like a hawk and ordering drinks. Eating beforehand. I think I may throw my dinner under the table. [apparently so dimly lit there that I can get away with it]
Good plan! I don't know if I could stomach watching everybody else chowing down though. Be strong!
