I know the Blairs are also into magic:

There has been a rash of other weird and wonderful disclosures, including Mrs Blair’s association with former market gardener Jack Temple, who charges 10 (plus 1 post and package) for dried strawberry leaves grown in the middle of a hastily erected stone circle which are said to "boost the dynamic life force of the food", and who uses crystals and nail clippings to search for poisons in the body.

he has performed for the Duke of Edinburgh and Cherie Blair, amongst many others.

All the serious headline magicians are on the list. It's sort of Masonic in the way standings are set. In my case, my grandfather was high enough that we have a permanent "table". I, my children, my grandchildren, ad infinitum, will always have membership if we choose.

You're right! Criss Angel almost died last night in Vegas when his straightjacket trick went badly! He passed out upside down...why Re they gunning for magicians?
