There is a lot more to this story that I do not quite remember. Something about her father or close family friend or relative founded the cult. The ferry sinking that killed 400 and some odd children occurred on the anniversary of the founders death. The guy who owned the ferry was a member of the cult. Guy driving the ferry survived but was later found dead in a ritualistic murder scene. Also the ship was loaded with government steel and was reported to have taken an acute turn at full speed. So seemingly a mass sacrifice.

Sounds about right. Also, her father was the former president. He and his wife died under some shady circumstances when this lady was young. Then the 'goddess' became a huge part of her life.
Conspiracy theory is that the goddesses killed her parents to indoctrinate her and acquire a young connected up and comer puppet.
