It wasn't really similar circumstances..

They were driving a rare super car, that went out of production in 2007. The spot they crashed was a popular spot for drifting cars. Driver was also a competitive racer and known petrol-head. They ran charities for earthquake victims, not child trafficking?

Well that's all fine and good but their car also blew up. Cars do not just blow up on impact. Gasoline is rated based on its ability to resist spontaneously igniting and while an engine could get hot it's unlikely to cause an explosion. For it to cause one purely by the engine it would have to be over heated to begin with, puncture the tank, AND vaporize the fuel within the tank. And remember that we are talking about a car, like Hastings, that uses Super Unleaded. The higher the number the less likely to ignite. We are also supposed to assume that someone who is a professional driver was this stupid in an area they were familiar with. It begins to stretch credulity when each piece is put together, and that's not even bringing up Haiti.

Cars do explode on impact, look it up. It happens all the time.

They were driving an old supercar at high speeds - the engine would have been hot, it wasn't a normal car.

So you're now suggesting that they planted a bomb in their car or what? We were talking about hacking.
