I heard an interesting story from author and consultant to the oil industry F William Engdahl ("The Lost Hegemony", "100 Years of War", etc) in the q&a section of a talk on GMOs. I think the question was about the morals and psychological makeup of the elite families that would allow them to do what they do to humanity [me: Subverting it from it's natural growth, creating wars and boom bust cycles that destroy civilizations].

He went to Princeton and knew several people oligarch families. He said that at birth they are taken from the mother and by a nurse and had zero human contact for the first three years of their lives. This way they were very likely to be sociopathic and be able to make decisions without regard for human suffering.

This would explain why the above story would completely make sense.

They do this on purpose to create sociopaths? It's just the most despicable thing I have ever heard of. Sociopaths are the worst kinds of people, the realisation that our world is run by them is absolutely horrifying, because they will have no idea what they are doing or risking, there is nothing about these kinds of people that anyone can trust, they won't even avoid risks to their own safety, so certain are they of their own infallibility. Our species will not survive much longer with psychological mutants like these running the show.

The real problem for them is that the world they create for themselves by destroying and killing everyone else they will not be able to enjoy. They'll never be happy, or know what they are missing.

You are incorrect. You don't know what makes them "happy."
