I'm not a pizzagater, but I find Shirley Temple films disturbing.
I have curly blond hair and was constantly compared to Shirley Temple as a toddler, and I used to sing "On The Good Ship Lollipop" because my parents thought it was cute. Now my cousin's little girl looks just like I did, and they've taught her to say "Oh my goodness!", and it's precious... So I looked up Shirley Temple stuff for the first time since I was a kid, and immediately was sickened by all the pinup-y, sexualized images I saw. I never realized when I was a kid, but as an adult it is truly shocking. If I had been a parent at the time, I would have thought it was horrendously pedophilic. I don't know how so many decent people approved.
