If you wanted to be sure to kill yourself by jumping out the window, you don't do it from the 7th floor. That's not guaranteed death-- that's at least guaranteed pain and a lifetime in a wheelchair and maybe death. To be sure of death, you go up to the roof and jump off from there. Also, scaffolding setups in NYC tend to be there for lenghthy periods of time. It's not like the guy would have not remembered it was there, so that means his jump was only 6 floors, not 7. Again, he "should" have taken the roof exit if he wanted to be sure. As I read the article, it seems like his family was in the apartment with him at the time. That leads me to believe someone didn't push him. And THAT leads me to believe he was mind controlled into jumping out that window.
Somebody quoted in the article mentioned by the OP said someone else had killed themself in a similar way but on the other side of the building. Edit: the witness said that happened 6 months ago.
Here's where it gets really creepy:
" A man jumped to his death Monday from the ultra-luxury Apthorp building on the Upper West Side, police said.
The unidentified man leaped from the top of the 12-story building built in 1908 and landed on scaffolding on W. 78 St. near Broadway at 4:30 p.m., cop sources said.
Neighbors said the man was middle-aged and had a history of alcohol abuse and depression."
THAT'S NOT FROM SIX MONTHS AGO OR YESTERDAY. THAT'S FROM NOVEMBER 3, 2015!
